Pierre Jaquet-Droz was one of the greatest craftsmen of the 18th century. He opened his first workshop in 1738 and forever left an indelible mark on the history of watchmaking with his pioneering genius. With his son Henri-Louis, he toured Europe to present his breathtaking handiwork, exquisitely decorated automata and singing watches to the royal courts, and exported his pieces around the world, particularly to China. The Swiss father-son team was also the first to establish their manufacture in Geneva in 1784. Jaquet Droz joined the Swatch Group in 2000 and continues to perpetuate its founder’s history and expertise today.
