Cristal, one of the world’s most recognizable champagnes, is produced uniquely during the best years, when the chardonnay and pinot noir grapes have attained perfect maturity. The 2006 Cristal, rated 95 points by Wine Spectator and Wine Enthusiast, features glistening color with light amber highlights and soft bubbles in a fine, slow and steady flow. There is a rich bouquet with confit lemon and orange, white flowers and lightly roasted nuts. On airing, the dominant fruitiness becomes intense: peaches, apricots, melon and mango. The texture is incredibly concentrated with a palate enveloped by juicy, creamy, silky fruit, which makes way for a pure graceful freshness.
