Cockburn's | Brands

Founder Robert Cockburn served as a soldier in the Peninsular War from 1808 to 1812. While campaigning in Portugal, he discovered the Douro region and its wines and resolved to return and dedicate himself to this great wine region. In 1815, when hostilities ceased, he returned to the country that had captivated him and founded his own Port house: Cockburn’s. Since 2010, Cockburn’s has been in the hands of a family of Port producers—the Symingtons. They have been making Port for five generations and are the largest vineyard owner in the Douro.
