In 1959, shortly before the National Day, Diaoyutai State Guesthouse was inaugurated as an important venue for Chinese leaders conducting foreign affairs and state activities. To date, Diaoyutai State Guesthouse has welcomed more than 1,300 heads of state and government from around the world.
