DFS AND JACK DANIEL'S SUPPORT HAND IN HAND FOR HAITI AND CELEBRATE THE DFS 50TH ANNIVERSARY
OCTOBER 2, 2010 - To commemorate the 50th anniversary of travel retailer DFS, Brown-Forman Duty free/Travel Retail has come up with a unique idea. Brown-Forman commissioned artists from around the world to turn seven barrels of Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whisky into amazing works of art. Artists include Mark Sampson and Andy Vella, Bryan Bowie, Dana Tomsa, Imin Yeh, Jeff Roland, Margaret Ho and Sheyna Baig. Proceeds from sales will benefit charitable efforts in Haiti. These fantastic Art Barrel creations are being auctioned now, with bidding open for just 30 more days.
These captivating pieces take the form of the iconic Jack Daniel’s whiskey barrel. Brown Forman – the vendor for Jack Daniel’s – conducted a worldwide search for talented artists, and a panel of distinguished judges chose seven exceptionally creative and innovative barrel designs. The barrels were on display at international airports in Auckland, Singapore, Abu Dhabi, Mumbai, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and New York and can now be viewed online at www.dfs50.com.
These special creations are sure to appeal to connoisseurs of both art and fine whiskeys, but the window of opportunity is closing - the auction ends on November 1 at noon Hong Kong time. The time to get in on the action is now! Bids start at USD $500 and bidding is open to all.
Most importantly, all proceeds go to Hand in Hand for Haiti, one of the many global charities DFS supports.
