Mortlach
In 1823, Mortlach was the first distillery to be built in Dufftown, now one of the epicenters of Speyside whiskey. After his involvement in shaping the railway industry in the 19th century, George Cowie then turned his pioneering and precise approach to another great challenge of engineering: the production of single malt Scotch whiskey. His distillery was later sold to Johnnie Walker & Sons of Kilmarnock in the 1920s.
Mortlach has been described by whiskey connoisseurs as "The Beast of Dufftown." Full of rich and powerful flavors, Mortlach is produced in an astonishingly complicated and unique distillation process.
