Management Trainee

The Graduate Development Program is designed to provide young, talented individuals an opportunity to fast-track their careers with DFS through an 18-month rotational program as Management Trainees. Learning occurs in multiple departments across both office and store environments. Trainees work on delivering real results in their team alongside involvement in key projects. They develop skills through learning opportunities, mentoring, coaching and regular interaction with the rotation managers.

CAREER DEVELOPMENT

Rotations

The program is carefully curated to provide Management Trainees with cross-functional training in an accelerated learning environment to fast track their career progression. They will be assigned departmental responsibilities and be tasked with real-life business projects according to their background, aspirations and business needs.

Learning Support

As a Management Trainee, you will have direct access to senior leadership at DFS and connections with LVMH Group. You will be assigned a mentor within our management team who will assist you in understanding the culture of DFS, evolving through our ecosystem successfully, and making the right career choices.

CAREER PATH

Retail Operations

Retail Operations

The Retail Operations track gives Management Trainees first-hand experience of different roles in Retail Operations, Merchandising and Marketing both on-site at a downtown or airport store and in our regional or global offices. By the end of the 18-month program Management Trainees will graduate into a management role in one of our stores.

Human Resources, Strategy & Business Development

Human Resources, Strategy & Business Development

Whether participating in the Global HR or Strategy & Business Development tracks, Management Trainees get exposure to one of these two fields to start their journey with DFS before they get an opportunity to learn our retail business and lead a team there. Management Trainees in these two tracks will also get exposure to other global teams in our corporate head office before graduating after 18 months into a management role in one of our many global head office teams.

Marketing

The Marketing track allows Management Trainees to experience first-hand the various fields of Marketing and Digital Sales at DFS, before they get an opportunity to learn our brick-and-mortar retail business and lead a team there. Management Trainees in this track will also get exposure to other global teams in our corporate head office before graduating after 18 months into a management role in one of our many global marketing teams.

Merchandising & Planning

Merchandising & Planning

The Merchandising & Planning track allows Management Trainees to experience first-hand the various fields of Merchandising or Planning. Both specialisms are key to the success of any retail business, Merchandising is more about product assortment and brand relationships, with Planning being more involved in how much to spend and how to maximise our investments in product. Management Trainees will also have the opportunity to lead a team in store and experience other functions at the Corporate office. By the end of the 18-month program, Management Trainees will be considered for a career in either Merchandising or Planning.

Finance

The 18-month Finance track enables Management Trainees to experience first-hand the various Finance functions at DFS, getting hands-on experience in key processes that support the success of the business. Management Trainees learn on the job by working with experienced managers to achieve tangible results and taking part in projects to continuously improve the way DFS operates. In addition, Management Trainees will gain exposure to store operations before they pursue a permanent role within our Finance team.

Technology

Over the course of 18 months, the Technology track enables Management Trainees to experience various Technology functions at DFS before pursuing a permanent role in our Technology team. Throughout their rotations, Management Trainees play a crucial role in supporting the infrastructure of our global systems, synchronizing data across different locations to achieve the most cost-effective business practices. Management Trainees learn to leverage resources and work towards enhancing user experience both internally and externally.
