Biondi-Santi is the inventor of Brunello di Montalcino. Its Riserva was produced for the first time in 1888. This vintage coincides with the birth of the appellation. The Riserva is crafted only in exceptional vintages. In fact, this rare wine has been released only 41 times throughout the history of Biondi-Santi. Renowned for its extraordinary longevity, the Riserva from Biondi-Santi is considered the most classic expression of Brunello di Montalcino.In 2016 the estate was acquired by the Descours family and a new era in the history of Biondi-Santi commenced.At the helm of the winery today stands Giampiero Bertolini, CEO, Tuscany by birth and with a lifetime of experience in Tuscan wine. He is flanked by Federico Radi, Head Winemaker, charged with the invigorating task of further evolving the estate’s dedication to excellence, while preserving the unique Biondi-Santi style.
