Bunnahabhain
Bunnahabhain Distillery was founded in 1881. It is the most northerly of the Islay Island distilleries, overlooking the Sound of Islay, a vast stretch of sea traveled by many a seafarer. Built close to the Margadale River, Bunnahabhain means "mouth of the river" in Gaelic. Bunnahabhain is the only distillery on Islay to produce whiskey using pure sprig water, pumped straight into the distillery (no peat influence).
