Located in the unassuming neighborhood of Stanmore, Sixpenny is anything but ordinary. In their chic but understated restaurant, James Parry and Daniel Puskas have created a veritable ode to NSW produce, with a kitchen garden in the back, and their own farm in the Southern Highlands. The degustation menu offers plenty of surprises to add dimension to the seasonal and the local, though the signature mud crab with macadamia cream and chamomile is a constant—and very welcome—feature. The elegant dishes are complemented with a wine list that focuses on Australian offerings with a strong selection of biodynamic bottles.
