DR. MARTENS

The first pair of Dr. Martens boots rolled off the production line on April 1, 1960. With their yellow stitching, grooved sole and back buckle, they were work boots, initially worn by letter carriers and policemen. At the time, they were far more comfortable, durable and lightweight than their competitors. Throughout Dr. Martens' history, the brand has been adopted by many celebrities, musicians, youth groups and other tribes. These are people who wanted to stand out from the crowd, and who have always used a pair of Dr. Martens to express their personality. Thanks to their simple silhouette, each pair can be easily customized, while on the practical side, their proven durability and comfort make them the ideal companion for concerts and urban fashion. Emotionally, they denote a certain attitude and are synonymous with emancipation. The factory where it all began still exists today, in the Northamptonshire village of Wollaston. A specific range of "Made in England" products is manufactured here by a small, close-knit team of craftsmen trained in traditional shoe-making, using the same process since the first pair was made over 60 years ago.
