Celebrate Easter in (sweet) style at Samaritaine

March 21, 2024

The department store’s restaurants have added some delectable chocolate treats to their menus.

Hop into Ernest for the chocolate bunny, a sweet treat that will melt your heart. Let your curiosity (and appetite!) linger over the selection of chocolate figurines, miniature bunnies, praline eggs and even a chocolate hen.

Art of the Egg with Pierre Hermé

Pierre Hermé’s Easter collection includes six stunning eggs that explore the idea of paradox through their unique, unexpected shapes and designs. Whether you choose “Poussin,” “Pincé,” “Ligoté” or “Dévoilé,” these chocolate eggs are a work of art to be savored! The “Kintsugi” version pays homage to the Japanese art of repairing ceramics using gold powder. Beautiful and delicious!

Tartines and tradition at Loulou

The chocolate Easter eggs at Loulou offer a nostalgic touch of fun! The Chocolat des Français confections come in an array of flavors, including praline, hazelnut, caramel, milk chocolate and crispy Gianduja dark chocolate. A colorful cat-and-mouse game adorns their wrapping, with the hunter on one side and the prey on the other. Both delicious, of course.

Originating in Sicily, Fiasconaro is renowned for its handmade Panettone. On this occasion, it’s the Colombe — a dove-shaped brioche traditionally served at Easter — that has landed at Samaritaine! In keeping with our Paris-Venice theme, this delightful treat can be enjoyed plain or au chocolat.

Plunge into the jar of Confiture Parisienne and its Chouchou spread! Hazelnuts, almonds, Valrhona chocolate and caramel-coated roasted peanuts (the famous “chouchous”) are sure to make your snacks unforgettable. And inside…surprise! A gooey salted butter caramel heart awaits you, poured directly into each jar. To be spread or enjoyed shamelessly from the spoon.

Easter, Italian-style

Pasticceria Simona, on the first floor on the Rivoli side, is also unveiling its version of the Italian “Colomba.” Comes in classic or chocolate pistachio … Both versions perfectly fluffy and moist with an irresistible icing. The family-run brand is also unveiling its Pastiera Napoletana cake, a traditional Easter-time treat. Enjoy a single piece or share with family and friends with larger versions — 4 servings or 6 servings.
