Emi no Mise
Located in Ogimi Village, the longevity capital of the world, Emi no Mise was opened 25 years ago by a former nutritionist-turned-health-food restaurateur extraordinaire. Featuring a menu that would be perceived as "macrobiotic" in Hollywood, in Ogimi, it is simply defined as home-cooking. Emi no Mise serves delicious, flavorsome platefuls made exclusively with exotic Japanese vegetables—kandaba, ichoba, handama—harvested from the restaurant’s very own gardens. The star attraction is the famous "Longevity Meal," which must be ordered 24 hours in advance.
