Located on the West Coast of Saipan, only a 10-minute boat ride from Micro Beach, lies Managaha Island. A small island sheltered in a lagoon, it is often earmarked as one of the best snorkeling spots in Saipan. It was mistaken for a battleship and bombed incessantly during World War II, hence earning its name, as ‘managaha’ translates as ‘warship’ in local Chamorro language. Today, this luscious island paradise bears no scars of its violent past, and is known by the more apt moniker of the ‘Green Castle’ of Saipan’s vibrant, tropical seas.
