You can usually find Isaac Hindin-Miller hitting the international men's fashion week circuit, then DJing the after-parties for the likes of Saint Laurent, Valentino, and Tiffany & Co. When he’s not traveling the globe, he's visiting his favorite spots in his hometown of Auckland, New Zealand, and he’s letting us in on local favorites, exclusively for DFS.
Auckland is special to me because it’s where I grew up, it’s the most international, cosmopolitan city in New Zealand. It was the city that opened my eyes up to what the rest of the world could be.
My favorite café is on Ponsonby Road. It’s called Dizengoff. Whenever I go back to New Zealand, I go and get the poached eggs on toast with avocado—it’s incredible. If you drive up Mount Eden, which is a dormant volcano, it has this incredible view of the entire city and of all of the water—it's amazing.
Auckland punches way above its weight when it comes to style. People are incredibly well dressed. And we have great night life. The place that I really cut my teeth was this hip-hop night club called 420. They have the best DJs in the world.
We also have some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Piha or Muriwai Beach. You’ve got golden sand beaches on the east side and then you’ve got these crazy black sand beaches on the west side. It’s like nothing you’ve ever seen. I’m Isaac Hindin-Miller, and my Auckland is the coolest little city in the world.
