Ăquae Naturografie, Roberto Ghezzi Solo Exhibition

February 22, 2023

February 3, 2023 - May 1, 2023
Naturografie is an artistic project in which art, man and the environment enter into a consonant and original connection.

The works that Ghezzi has created in this artistic-scientific project, object of the Venetian exhibition, can be defined as real self-portraits of Laguna, in which artist and nature together draw fascinating abstract and contemporary views, a sort of ""shrouds"" of author where the amphibious environment and the terrestrial nature tell each other in a surprising way.

The Tuscan artist chooses the place of installation and the type of fabric to be used, which is left partially immersed in water, thus leaving the completion of the work to time and nature itself. The light, the wind and the rain, the plants and the organisms that live in those waters act on the canvases to create lively and ever-changing landscapes: thus generating works that do not simply represent the landscape, but are the landscape itself.

Ghezzi applied his particular technique off the waters of the Venetian lagoon, between the natural oasis of Valle Averto up to the more urbanized areas of the Venice Arsenal and the ""renaturalized"" salt marshes ( edited by the Interregional Provveditorato for public works for the Veneto, Trentino Alto Adige and Friuli Venezia Giulia with the collaboration of the Port Authority of the Northern Adriatic Sea - Venice).

At Fondaco dei Tedeschi it will be possible to admire the result of these lagoon installations: the large canvases hanging from the ceiling will reveal, like tapestries from a distant time, works made of the same substance as the Lagoon. Apparently full of material, yet light and very delicate, they give us back all their unstable balance. The world inside Roberto Ghezzi's canvases moves even when standing still, we think we know it but in reality we have never seen it, a ""new world"" that art and science together are revealing to us.

Ăque Naturographies. Roberto Ghezzi solo exhibition is an initiative also realized with the precious support of Interlaced srl (Udine, Milan, Treviso), Ricci spa (Rome, Milan) and Peroni spa (Gallarate, VA)

The exhibition is open to the public and free entry from 3 February until 1 May 2023.
