MAY 1, 2012 - Following the phenomenal success of Master of Spirits II in Singapore this April, DFS Group continues its legendary gathering of exclusive spirits at the Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT) through May and June. Master of Spirits is the most prestigious spirits event for global connoisseurs and collectors. International travelers are invited to indulge in a world of limitless luxury through a selection of masterpieces in categories such as Single Malt Scotch Whiskies, Cognacs, and Baijiu, at the pre-security duty free shop in Los Angeles’ TBIT.

With its strong global network and long-standing partnerships with premium brands from around the world, DFS Group has brought together an unprecedented assortment of exclusive spirits, some of which were created solely for and are only available at the Master of Spirits exhibition. Rémy Martin’s Louis XIII, for instance, collaborated with Baccarat to give birth to Louis XIII Black Pearl Magnum, an extremely limited cognac series produced from a century-old tierçon in the Grande.
Champagne region, packaged in a futuristic black crystal decanter. At 55,000 US dollars, the magnificent Louis XIII clinched the title as the most expensive bottle on offer at the Master of Spirits at Los Angeles International Airport. In the whisky category is the ultra-rare Duncan Taylor Rarest Macallan 1969 — a 42-year-old whisky that is presented in a stunning decanter of exquisite crystal, intricately engraved and adorned with hand-cut silver. Another masterpiece underscores Glenfiddich and DFS Group’s commitment to humanitarian goals. A cask of Glenfiddich 1973 Limited Edition No. 9899 was donated from the private cellars of Peter Gordon and bottled specially in support of the Hand in Haiti charity. It is only available at selected DFS outlets and now at Los Angeles International Airport. Also, making a special appearance at the exhibition is the National Salute by Luzhoulaojiao, a unique product that was presented to honor the 60th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China. This precious spirit was blended with traditional skills and a 60-year aging process.
International travelers departing from Los Angeles International Airport will have an unrivalled opportunity to discover the magnificent gems of this rare collection. During the exhibition, well-trained brand ambassadors will be onsite to share their passion and expertise for fine spirits. Apart from the exhibition, these rare items will also be available for sale to passengers departing from T2 and T7 through iGate—DFS Group’s cutting-edge technology which enables travelers to independently access, order and arrange delivery of their selected spirit at their boarding gate.
