THE LUXURY TRAVEL RETAILER WILL SPONSOR 10 GLOBAL WISHES AND HOST A FUN CHILDREN’S PARTY AT T GALLERIA BEAUTY IN HONG KONG

NOVEMBER 03, 2017 - Hoping to bring some festive cheer to children battling critical illnesses, leading luxury travel retailer DFS Group is thrilled to announce that it is partnering with Make-A-Wish® International (worldwish.org), the world’s largest wish-granting organization, for the fourth successive year. Since its inception in 1980, Make-A-Wish has granted the wishes of more than 415,000 children in nearly 50 countries, including that of four-year-old Yuet-Lun from Hong Kong, who dreamed of being a superhero.

“We are proud to renew our partnership with DFS this holiday season to help grant even more wishes to deserving children facing critical illnesses,” said Dr. Kevin Lau, Chairperson of Hong Kong Make-A-Wish Hong Kong. “The support of partners like DFS and their customers around the globe will bring us closer to achieving our goal of assisting every eligible child in the fulfillment of his or her wish.”

As well as facilitating the granting of 10 global wishes, DFS is hosting a Fairytale Wish Day on November 4 at T Galleria Beauty by DFS, Causeway Bay. The store will be transformed into a fairytale wonderland for 30 Make-A-Wish children, and 20 children from the Lung Kong World Federation School Limited Chu Sui Lan Anglo-Chinese Kindergarten, all of whom will be given a fairytale mission to save a magic star from the clutches of dinosaurs.

Upon arrival at the store, the children will receive a simple but colorful map of the venue, depicting the locations of various activities and challenges. These include customizing fairytale props, a makeup experience with beauty brands, gingerbread decorating and “dinosaur feeding”. Popcorn and cotton candy will be available for the hungry adventurers to snack on after their mission is complete, while multiple professional photographers will be on hand to mark each moment.

“DFS is delighted to be partnering with Make-A-Wish for the fourth year in a row. To be able to give something back to the children in our community, and grant their wishes this holiday season, is a truly extraordinary experience for all of us,” said Jay Frame, Vice President Corporate Communications & CSR. “There is nothing more joyful than seeing children smile, and what better way to kick start the festive season than with a fabulous children’s party?”

Make-A-Wish will also be the recipient of proceeds from a silent auction of luxury items at DFS’ The Art of Personalization event which is being held on November 11 at T Galleria by DFS, City of Dreams, Macau. The occasion will offer customers the opportunity to purchase bespoke products that are available nowhere else in the world and is part of DFS’ Give Joy Together seasonal gifting campaign.
