APRIL 10, 2014 - Hong Kong and Abu Dhabi – DFS Group (DFS), the world’s leading luxury travel retailer, announces the opening today of its first luxury fragrance boutique, Fragrances by DFS, at Abu Dhabi International Airport at Terminal 3. Heralding a new approach to beauty shopping and offering a multi-sensory immersive experience, created through timeless quality design, Fragrances by DFS, will offer a number of brands and fragrances that are completely new to travel retail. The new fragrance offering will include a number of new brands and fragrances that will be exclusive to DFS worldwide in travel retail and to the Middle Eastern region, including brands such as Diptyque, Xerjoff and the Different Company (see appendix).
In a bid to elevate the fragrance shopping experience at airports, Fragrances by DFS will be a beautifully-designed 250 square meter retail space. With highly sought out fragrances available from 65 of the world’s most legendary fragrance Maisons and boutique artisan brands, international travellers will be able to experience the newest launches, purchase their favourite perfumes, and re-visit timeless classics.
Fragrances by DFS has been designed using the finest materials, pairing cutting edge technology with personalised services for an engaging customer experience. The innovative environment builds an authentic connection with the brand and product, encouraging exploration and discovery, and facilitating the highest level of service. The finest Italian marble and bespoke glass joinery has been used by prestigious luxury retail designer, Malherbe alongside 85 inch video screens to bring the space to life.
With a culture and history steeped in the traditions of rich and exotic perfumes, a sophisticated and passionate customer base, and a reputation as the new international transport hub, Abu Dhabi is the perfect location for the first DFS fragrance boutique.

The opening of Fragrances by DFS will coincide with the inaugural Masters of Fragrances event, held at the Manarat Al Saadiyat Gallery, a modern art and culture centre in Abu Dhabi on April 10 and featuring a finely curated display of 26 distinctive fragrances from 22 of the world’s most legendary fragrance Maisons and boutique artisan brands. Masters of Fragrances was the first event of its kind and one of the most impressive fragrance events in the world, with many of the fragrances and their beautiful bottles created exclusively for the event and global firsts.
Following its launch at a private invitation-only gala event – where the fragrances took centre stage as attendees explored the world of exclusive perfumes and engaged with the experts from distinguished brands – Masters of Fragrances transferred to Abu Dhabi International Airport Terminal 1 where it will reside from April 11 until June 12, 2014, offering world travellers the opportunity to enjoy the creative presentation and shop the exclusive collection.
