APRIL 10, 2014, Abu Dhabi – Today, DFS Group (DFS), the world’s leading luxury travel retailer, is proud to announce that its inaugural Masters of Fragrances event is taking place in Abu Dhabi – the first event of its kind and sure to be the most impressive retail fragrance event the world has ever seen.
Featuring a finely curated display of 26 distinctive fragrances from 22 of the world’s most legendary fragrance Maisons and boutique artisan brands, many of the fragrances and their beautiful bottles have been created exclusively for the event and are global firsts.
With brands including Dior, Guerlain, Amouage, Bvlgari, Salvatore Ferragamo, Armani Privé and Estée Lauder on display, and many fragrances created especially for Masters of Fragrances, attendees are able to experience the individual scents and interact with the brand experts in attendance. Highlights from the exhibition include Guerlain’s Le Secret de la Reine, a rock crystal and platinum bottle fashioned in the form of a bee with 14 carat of diamonds; Bvlgari’s Opera Prima made from Italian Venini glass adorned with diamonds and citrine and Amouage’s rock crystal bottles hand sculpted using 18th century techniques.
As well as experts from each attending brand, three masters in the world of fragrances are also present to add a further dimension to this experience; Michael Edwards, author of the seminal perfume book Perfume Legends and a researcher who has tracked luxury limited editions for more than 20 years; Mark Colle, the Antwerp-based international florist known for his innovative artistry within the fashion world, and Tala Samman, the Dubai-based lifestyle editor and award-winning blogger.Masters of Fragrances is being held at an invitation-only event at the Manarat Al Saadiyat Gallery in Abu Dhabi — a modern art and culture venue where the fragrances and their incredible bottles have been presented in spectacular displays. The exhibition will then move to Abu Dhabi International Airport at Terminal 1 where it will be on display for travellers until June 12, 2014. The exhibition will offer travellers the opportunity to enjoy the creative presentation and shop the exclusive fragrance collection.
