APRIL 1, 2014 - To celebrate the arrival in Singapore of the new downtown luxury shopping brand, T Galleria by DFS, the who’s who of Singaporean and Indonesian society turned up last Thursday, 27 March, at the rebranded Galleria Singapore store (previously DFS Galleria Scottswalk) on Scotts Road. In addition to a striking new façade resembling a beautiful jewellery box, and an entirely redesigned interior, the store had also been specially transformed for the celebratory event.

The evening’s festivities saw over 400 VIP guests, including over 100 of DFS’ most loyal customers, as well as key brand and business partners, and senior editors from the media in Singapore, Indonesia and China. The store remained open to the public, and crowds of people continued to shop and enjoy the party. Guests to T Galleria Singapore walked the red carpet and were greeted by a giant T sculpture bursting with Singapore’s tropical flora.

Notable attendees on the red carpet included Indonesian celebrity Syahrini, Linda Black, best known for hosting HBO Signature’s Friday Picture House, celebrity photographers Kevin Ou and Zurina Bryant, celebrity make-up artist Larry Yeo, ESPN Star Sports presenter PJ Roberts and actor/model Justin Bratton. The distinguished guests were welcomed by DFS executives, led by Philippe Schaus, Chairman and CEO of DFS Group. Mr. Schaus also introduced local artist Y/X, also known as Koon Beng Chua, who unveiled his T in Art installation, encapsulating the elements of the DFS brand and story, and the spirit of travel in Singapore. The large scale artwork was created with industrial-grade paint, wax and light bulbs to cleverly depict human and flight connections through their movements around the T with the mighty little red dot, a symbol of Singapore, in the heart of it all.

Each of the four storeys of T Galleria Singapore were filled with a wide variety of entertainment such as house music from Sydney-based DJ Beth Yen and DJ Atran, while Dawn Ho brought in classic jazz music on another floor, and the acoustic duo Zsa Zsa Scorpion & Shane Low impressed guests with their pared back vocals.

T stands for travel, and our new T Galleria is made for all who travel. Beyond the fact that Singapore is a global travel hub with over 14 million visitors a year, it is also a multicultural city. There is true sense of journey, in discovering districts that showcase the wide influence of different cultures in its architecture, cuisine and global outlook. T Galleria is a reflection of the Singapore state of mind, and we are delighted to welcome our new brand to Singapore,” said Philippe Schaus, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, DFS Group.

T Galleria’s arrival in Singapore marks the end of a major store upgrade and renovation programme. T Galleria Singapore presents more than 300 of the world’s most-desired luxury brands across beauty and fragrances, watches and jewellery, fashion and accessories, and wine and spirits, reinforcing DFS as the world’s travellers preferred destination for luxury shopping.

In celebration of the arrival of T Galleria, DFS also launched its LOYAL T programme, the most extensive global luxury travel retail loyalty programme that provides shoppers with seamless rewards across the company’s worldwide network. The launch of LOYAL T also showcased the personal service offered, from Beauty Concierge to personal shopping experiences in the PRESTIGE LOUNGE, where the most loyal customers have access to exclusive brands and bespoke experiences. LOYAL T is designed to extend and reward the international travellers’ global shopping experience from DFS airport stores to downtown Gallerias.
