The Fall of the House of Usher is one of Edgar Allan Poe's most important and famous short stories. Included in the Tales of the Grotesque and Arabesque is also one of the best-known horror stories in the collective imagination. Among the many films based on this celebrated tale, the first and most famous is probably Jean Epstein's, released in 1928, here presented with a musical accompaniment by Massimo Volume.
