Since 1927, Castañer has transformed a once-popular footwear style into a sophisticated product, closely linked to design and fashion. It all began when Luis Castañer and his cousin Tomàs Serra founded the first workshop, where they continue to work with jute with the same passion and dedication: each pair of espadrilles passes through fifteen artisan hands. Decades later, their encounter with Yves Saint Laurent marked a milestone in fashion history with the creation of the first jute wedge. Today, they remain true to their essence: tradition, craftsmanship, and natural materials, keeping alive the legacy that has accompanied them since the beginning.
