THE WEEKLY EVENT ATTRACTED VISITORS ACROSS FOUR WEEKENDS IN SINGAPORE
NOVEMBER 30, 2015 - DFS Group (DFS), the world’s leading luxury travel retailer, celebrated the fifth annual Masters of Wines and Spirits in Singapore this November. The largest retail exhibition of its kind in Asia, it featured a curated collection of over 60 fine wines, spirits and Champagnes from 47 world-renowned brands. An engaging and immersive experience unlike any other retail event in the region, Masters of Wines and Spirits presented a truly unique range of products, many of which were exclusive to DFS – a clear indication of the unparalleled relationship between DFS and the world’s best wine, spirits and Champagne houses.
Created in partnership with Changi Airport Group and supported by the Singapore Tourism Board as part of the nation’s Golden Jubilee marketing campaign, Masters of Wines and Spirits was held at T Galleria by DFS in the heart of Orchard Road. Previously an invitation-only event for top tier VIPs, Masters of Wines and Spirits was made accessible to all customers this year. The DFS lifestyle was showcased through an amazing line-up of tastings every weekend in November. Following the conclusion of the event, the exhibited collection will now be moved to DFS’s flagship wines and spirits duplex store at Terminal 3, Changi International Airport.
“Masters of Wines and Spirits provides consumers not only with the opportunity to taste and shop leading wine, spirits and Champagne brands all in one place, but to discover rare, unique and iconic blends from the very masters who create them,” said Philippe Schaus, DFS Group Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “This is the fifth year that we have partnered with Changi Airport Group to hold this event, and we were especially thrilled to host it at our T Galleria by DFS store within the vibrant shopping precinct of Orchard Road. We’re confident that visitors to Singapore and Singaporeans alike will appreciate the chance to explore all that Masters of Wines and Spirits has to offer.”
Visitors attended the weekly events throughout November as they enjoyed a series of tastings offered by iconic brands such as The Dalmore, Dom Pérignon, Hennessy, Johnnie Walker, The Macallan, Martell and Royal Salute. Award-winning local bars also served up bespoke cocktails created exclusively for Masters of Wines and Spirits, alongside wine and Russian caviar tastings that were offered on the same floor. Visitors also had the opportunity to sample the Royal Box by Godiva, an exquisite chocolate selection inspired by fine wines, spirits and Champagne that was created for the annual event. Across four floors, a curated collection of rare wines, spirits and Champagnes were on display, and for the first time, a special collection of humidors were available for viewing and purchase. Top local DJs were also on the decks through the evening, adding to the electric atmosphere.
Seven brand ambassadors representing five iconic brands, namely The Dalmore, Hennessy, Johnnie Walker, Martell and The Macallan, were on hand each week to host intimate tasting experiences of some of the houses’ rarest offerings for LOYAL T members and invited VIPs, within the LOYAL T lounge. Highlights include the unveiling of The Dalmore Five Decades Collection during the first weekend of activities. Hosted by Richard Paterson, Master Distiller of The Dalmore, the collection was created specifically for Masters of Wines and Spirits in celebration of Singapore’s landmark 50th birthday. Accompanied by musicians from the Singapore Symphony Orchestra, Paterson walked guests through the flavours and aromas of the Five Decades Collection in his signature theatrical manner.
"We’re thrilled to be participating again this year at the DFS Masters of Wines and Spirits, which is one of the most prestigious liquor events in Asia. This year, we will be showcasing The Dalmore Five Decades Collection, an assembly of five extraordinary expressions – The Dalmore 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50 – to celebrate the SG50 occasion. These expressions were curated to highlight and honor the brilliance and remarkable achievements of Singapore, including a one-of-a-kind, 50-year-old single malt that was specially created for this prominent event,” said Richard Paterson. The Dalmore will be available at airport concessions at DFS and selected high-end bars for purchase.
“Each year we aim to surprise and delight our customers by creating different experiences and activations,” said Brooke Supernaw, DFS Group Senior Vice President Spirits, Wines and Tobacco. “This year is no different, bringing Masters of Wines and Spirits not only to our own T Galleria by DFS store in Singapore for the first time and but also expanding the event to include beauty, fashion, watch and food brands.”
The next event in the DFS Masters Series is Masters of Time which launches Saturday, December 5 at T Galleria by DFS, Macau at Shoppes at Four Seasons.
