JULY 24, 2013 - This July, DFS Group (DFS), the world’s leading luxury travel retailer, will become the only retailer in the U.S. and Asia Pacific to offer customers the recently launched Gran Patrón Piedra by Patrón. At its spirits, wine & tobacco concessions at Los Angeles International Airport -where the Group also hosted the spirit’s world premiere last June during the unveiling of the new Tom Bradley International Terminal – DFS will be the exclusive retailer of Gran Patrón Piedra in the United States until the end of August. In Asia Pacific, the Group will also exclusively retail the product at Singapore Changi Airport during the same period.
In line with DFS’ long history of bringing world travelers exclusive and limited-edition products by the most sought-after brands, Gran Patrón Piedra represents another exceptional addition to the Group’s portfolio of curated luxury offerings. Meticulously aged for more than three years in new American and French oak barrels, Gran Patrón Piedra offers a distinct range of flavors and aromatics to satisfy even the most sophisticated and discerning of palates. In addition to extra anejo aging, Gran Patrón Piedra is also distinguished by its unique “Tahona” production process, an ancient method for creating tequila. One of the few tequilas to still be produced according to this age-old method, Gran Patrón Piedra exhibits a deep mahogany color and sweet, subtle aroma of fruit, fresh mushroom, light citrus, and toasted French oak. The luxury spirit also features a beautiful, hand-numbered bottle, inspired by the tahona stone used in its creation.
