JULY 24,2013 - This July, DFS Group (DFS), the world’s leading luxury travel retailer, launched Tom Ford Beauty at the Group’s airport concessions at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA). The first airport retailer in the region to offer the Tom Ford Beauty line of luxury fragrances, DFS is its sole carrier through the month of July.
Harold Brooks, President of Global Merchandising, DFS Group, said, “Tom Ford is a great opportunity for DFS in many regions and, as HKIA is a shining star for us, we are pleased to offer the brand in this location with excellent results.”
Caroline Geerlings, President of Tom Ford Beauty added, “We are pleased that our partnership with DFS will now allow us to introduce a new audience to Tom Ford Beauty. Created as the first true luxury brand of the twenty-first century, Tom Ford fragrances are artisanal scents designed with the fragrance connoisseur in mind. Tom Ford Beauty will no doubt resonate strongly with travelers at HKIA.”
With the launch of Tom Ford Beauty at HKIA, DFS has once again brought its customers access to another new and exciting luxury brand, furthering the Group’s mission of providing world travelers with superior and highly-convenient airport shopping experiences. Comprising seven fragrances for men and women, the Tom Ford range includes the designer’s iconic White Patchouli, Violet Blonde, Black Orchid, Neroli Portofino, Tom Ford for Men, Grey Vetiver, and Noir. With notes ranging from floral infused woods, oriental chypre, citrus, and classic woods, the masterfully-crafted perfumes truly represent luxury reinterpreted for the twenty-first century, in line with DFS customer preferences, particularly in global hubs like Hong Kong.
“After revealing our fully transformed renovation of the HKIA retail experience this month, along with its very own retail identity and logo, we are proud today to once again raise the traveler’s retail experience here to the next level,” said Benjamin Vuchot, Region President, Asia North, DFS Group. “Hong Kong has been home to us for many years now, and we could not be more pleased to advance our tradition of serving world travelers in this city, together with our partners at HKIA.”
The introduction of Tom Ford Beauty to HKIA marks DFS’ latest step forward in its long history of innovation in the travel retail industry. After winning the hotly contested bid to manage HKIA’s anchor license concessions and completing the handover with the previous concessionaire at only the end of last year, the Group has since been working to set a new reference in Hong Kong for luxury airport retail. Continuing in its mission to elevate the shopping experience for world travelers everywhere, DFS will also soon reveal how it is enhancing its downtown brand, DFS Galleria, with a global rebranding that will be unveiled this September in Waikiki, Hawaii.
