NOVEMBER 14, 2009 - Lovers of luxury from around the world will gather to appreciate limited, rare and exceptional watchmaker timepieces at the first annual “Masterpieces of Time” gala event, Saturday, 14 November 2009, sponsored by DFS Galleria Macao and The Venetian® Macao-Resort-Hotel, Asia’s largest integrated resort. Co-hosted by the Four Seasons Hotel Macao, Cotai Strip®, the exclusive celebration kicks-off a two-week exhibition and sale of 200 of the world’s most acclaimed timepieces, including the Hublot One Million $ Black Caviar Bang adorned with 544 black baguette diamonds.

More than a dozen of the world’s premier watch brands will be represented, including Blancpain, Breitling, Corum, Panerai, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Juvenia, Girard Perregaux, Glashütte, Hublot, IWC, Zenith, Ulysse Nardin and Vacheron Constantin.
Masterpieces of Time will also offer the opportunity to view the Jaeger-LeCoultre Joaillerie Revière 101, with its infinitesimally small mechanical movement, the tiniest in the world. Blancpain’s Carrousel Volant Une Minute is the world’s first wristwatch to feature a karussell mechanism, a technology all but forgotten for over a century. Also from Blancpain is an Equation Marchante Pure, which displays both nature’s time as measured by the sun’s movements and human time as we know and use it. Precious gems and metals, state-of-the-art technology and master craftsmanship, art and science, combine to create a stunning watchmaker display.
The invitation-only gala at The Venetian® Macao-Resort-Hotel, attended by 350 celebrity guests, VIPs and DFS Platinum Services Club members, will be a festive evening of timepiece connoisseurship. DFS Galleria Macao’s watch expert Richard Wong, a 38-year veteran of the Cartier, Bulgari and Piaget watch divisions, will provide insightful, one-on-one conversations regarding the array of superlative timepieces.
Masterpieces of Time is the first event of its kind by DFS Galleria, the world’s largest luxury travel retailer, which marshaled its significant resources to locate, compile and transport the precious, handpicked collection to DFS Galleria Macao.
