SEPTEMBER 20, 2016, HONG KONG – DFS Group, the world’s leading luxury travel retailer, is excited to announce the launch of an exclusive Burberry collection which will be available only in DFS and T Galleria by DFS stores this September. Inspired by key elements from Burberry’s groundbreaking first straight-to-consumer runway show, the 22-piece BurberryxDFS collection references the brand’s unique British heritage. The BurberryxDFS collection comprises womenswear, menswear and accessories as well as a style of Burberry’s newest bag, The Bridle, available only at DFS and T Galleria by DFS stores.
"We are so excited to have collaborated with DFS as part of this very special moment for us. When designing our new September collection, we were inspired by Virginia Woolf’s classic tale ‘Orlando’ and the spirit of Nancy Lancaster’s interior and garden designs, and we wanted the collection for DFS to reflect those elements,” said Christopher Bailey, Burberry Chief Creative and Chief Executive Officer
Burberry’s new collection was revealed on the runway last night as part of London Fashion Week, where both womenswear and menswear collections were presented together for the first time for Burberry’s inaugural straight-to-consumer show. Seasonless, immediate, and personal, the new format has been designed with a global audience in mind. This move, announced in February, significantly shortens the traditional gap between the runway show and retail availability of Burberry’s collection.
DFS Group President Merchandising and Marketing, Sibylle Scherer, said,“We’re thrilled to celebrate Burberry’s long heritage of craftsmanship with BurberryxDFS and bring our customers this seasonless, personal and exclusive collection.”
In addition to The Bridle, highlights from the BurberryxDFS collection include exclusive styles of the Sandringham and Kensington trench coats.
The BurberryxDFS collection will be available in 23 DFS and T Galleria by DFS stores across 13 countries beginning September 21.
Prices of the collection range from HK$1,300 – HK$20,000
