Venice Glass Week Metamorphosis, by Simone Crestani and Camilla Brunelli for Editamateria at the T Fondaco dei Tedeschi
10.09.2017 TO 17.09.2017
T Fondaco dei Tedeschi hosts Metamorphosis, a project by Camilla Brunelli and Simone Crestani for Editamateria.
An ancestral bond links design and nature: humans have always been inspired by the surrounding environment to create, softly passing from the natural universe to the artificial one. It is precisely this relationship that Metamorphosis explores, creating an echo with the installation Waterbones by Loris Cecchini presented at the Event Pavilion, and which also constitutes a biological metaphor at the crossroads between sculpture and organic dimension. The objects by Brunelli and Crestani are inspired by the process of metamorphosis of the exoskeleton of insects, which, from a container of natural bodies, turns itself into a human artifact, delicate vases and bottles blown into the glass.
With this project, DFS confirms its will to offer Venice a new place for exchanges and opportunities for collaborations with the protagonists of culture, design and craftsmanship.
