The Big Pilot's Watch 43 combines iconic design with superb movement technology and pronounced versatility in an ergonomic 43-millimetre case size. Created in collaboration with MR PORTER, the men's style destination, the Big Pilot's Watch 43 Edition "MR PORTER EDITION 1" is limited to 500 pieces. It features a case and crown made of bronze. One of the first alloys to be produced by man, bronze is a durable and rugged metal that stands out for its golden-brown hue. Another striking feature is its ability to develop a patina over time, making each timepiece unique. The black dial, the gold-plated hands, and the subdued numerals harmonize perfectly with the bronze. At work inside the case is the IWC-manufactured 82100 calibre, a robust and reliable automatic movement. It features the efficient self-winding system engineered by IWC's former technical director, Albert Pellaton, during the 1950s. This mechanism uses the rotor's smallest movements in either direction to build up a power reserve of 60 hours in the mainspring. Components like the automatic wheel or the pawls are made of virtually wear-free zirconium oxide ceramic. The titanium case back features an engraving of "MR PORTER" and the individual limitation number. This stylish timepiece is fitted with a black Alcantara® strap, a synthetic and durable micro-fibre with a unique haptic and leather-like feel. Thanks to the EasX-CHANGE system, the strap can be exchanged easily.
